Background

Among Ashkenazi Jewish 1: 40 women is a carrier of BRCA1/2 mutation. Women who carry these mutations have an up to 80% lifetime risk of developing cancer. The risk can be reduced by a dedicated medical follow-up.

Challenge

In Israel, we perform a BRCA1/2 carrier-screening test for Ashkenazi Jewish women, free of charge. The challenge is to improve the compliance to BRCA1/2 tests among eligible Clalit patients.

Solution

Text reminders designed to encourage women to do the screening test.

We designed personalized text messages based on behavioral insights
